Nonprofit firm awards grantsfor economic development
Capital Matrix, a Boise-based nonprofit corporation, announced
Thursday that it has awarded three grants totaling $60,000
to help boost economic development of communities throughout
the Treasure Valley.
These grants are awarded as part of the Capital Matrix
Community Initiative, a program that helps finance key community
projects. Nonprofit, community and governmental organizations
were invited to apply for grants. Seventeen applications
were received and reviewed by Capital Matrix board members
and other community leaders.
Grants of $25,000 were awarded to Sage Community Resources,
a not-for-profit organization that provides community and
economic development to 10 counties in Southwest Idaho,
and to Mountain Home, which will use the money for improvements
to a city-owned industrial park.
A $10,000 grant was awarded to Kickstand, Inc., a nonprofit
entrepreneur-support organization that will help launch
two key initiatives, The Service Provider Network and The
Idaho Capital Network, and also provide an Internet-based
resource center for Idaho entrepreneurs.
